Thank you Antonio. Yes, I think the final lines are very much about realising what should be obvious - you cannot change the past.

What stayed with me most was the quiet realization that we spend so much of life wishing for another moment that we almost overlook the one already holding us.

The image of throwing something into the wishing well feels less like asking for a future and more like saying goodbye to a past that can never be returned. Perhaps the only wish that can truly change us is the one that teaches us to recognize here before it becomes another memory.
